Favorite Fall Candles

It’s that time of year again for trimming wicks and basking in the glow of a gloriously rich candle, reading material optional. I’ve written about some other favorites here, but some newer scents that have captured my attention. Chilly air. Leaves. Candles. Bliss.

TLC Candle Co. ‘Gatherings’

With notes of red currant, teakwood, pomegranate, nutmeg and ginger, this candle is an elevated take on a cozy fall feeling. While there will always be the cult classics, sometimes they can veer towards cloyingly sweet, whereas this candle is fresh like sipping coffee in your backyard on the first cold morning of autumn.

Nest ‘Moroccan Amber’

This candle envelopes your space in a swirl of exotic spices and warmth including amber, patchouli, bergamot and eucalyptus. It reminds me of long walks outside when you start to smell fireplaces in the evening.

Brooklyn Candle Studio ‘Hinoki’

I adore this candle. I welcome woodsy scents for fall, and typically also change up my fragrance this time of year from florals to heavier scents like Chanel ‘Bois des Iles.’ This one from Brooklyn Candle Studio is the equivalent of a cashmere sweater with notes of cypress, cashmere woods, and cedar leaf over a base of orris, redwood bark, and cardamom. It’s very warm and subtly citrusy with just the right amount of spice.

Diptyque ‘Narguilé’

This candle was a delightful surprise to me, packaged in a gift set for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, where I order a few sets of these each year. These mini candles are individually packaged and make such lovely presents on their own, or tied up with a sprig of boxwood for a holiday hostess gift. It gave me such a strong sense memory of the first perfume I ever wore (stolen from my mom), and will forever be loyal to, Thierry Mugler’s Angel. It features notes of honey, tobacco and spices. I’ll be ordering the full-sized candle and luxuriating in the warm familiarity.

I was gifted the ‘Gatherings’ candle from TLC Candle Co. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
