My Favorite Fall Candles

For the the most wonderfully moody season, I know of no way better to create ambiance at home than with candles. Throw on Charlie Parker radio on Spotify and a cold, rainy day and you’re in business. While I do tend to hoard candles, I also burn and enjoy them at almost an equal rate. Here are candles I am loving this fall.

Homesick ‘New York City’

I love this candle for its complexity. It is meant to be reminiscent of department stores, concrete and Central Park. It’s super musky but has a definite lightness with top notes of citrus.

Bath & Body Works ‘Leaves’

This one is a cult classic for a reason. The throw of this scent is incredible; when you burn it, every single square inch of your house smells like a cozy, crisply cinnamon fall day.

Crabtree & Evelyn ‘Supper Club’

This candle grew on me in the most peculiar way. Its ‘cold throw’ (the scent it gives off unlit) is heavy with spearmint with herbal undertones. It is meant as a kitchen fragrance that can be lit and meld with kitchen aromas and not interfere. I burned it all throughout Thanksgiving and fell in love. I don’t think it’s produced anymore, but I am going to be hoarding it where ever I can find it.

Kerzon ‘Parc des Buttes Chaumont’

Poured in a ceramic votive the color of the famed Paris park chairs, this cedar and sandalwood candle gives me total fall vibes. It is part of a collection of candles inspired by parks in Paris and meant to evoke the natural elements emblematic of its namesake; as in the case of this candle, the famed Lebanon cedars of the park.

Diptyque ‘Feu de Bois’

This candle is perfect, and while a woodsy fireplace scent may be thought of as more of a winter candle, I for one cannot wait until the first cool fall night when we can light a fire in our fireplace. Feu de Bois captures the essence of that mood.
